MED CERTIFICATION

Certified type. Controlled production.

MARINE systems are intended for marine applications and follow the conformity-assessment route established by the Marine Equipment Directive (MED). Certification does not stop at approval of the product type: production is covered by the quality-assurance system required under Module D.

B

Module B · EC type-examination

A notified body examines the technical design and verifies and certifies that the type representative of the intended production meets the applicable requirements. Module B therefore provides the approval of the product type.

D

Module D · Production-quality assurance

Module D covers the manufacturing stage: the manufacturer operates an approved quality system subject to surveillance by the notified body. Series production must therefore remain in conformity with the type approved under Module B.

MED Wheelmark

For a marine customer, this means a system that is not only tested and type-approved, but also manufactured within a MED-controlled and supervised production process.

MED MARINE CERTIFICATION

MARINE: type-approved and manufactured under production-quality assurance.

MED conformity of MARINE systems is based on two complementary stages: Module B approves the MARINE CEILING SYSTEM product type, while Module D covers the production-quality system and continuity of conformity during manufacturing.
